Equipment for Homeland
Security:
The ICS-4000 Radionuclide Identifier
You
provide the first line of defense. Terrorists have made it clear
they intend to detonate a radiological dispersal device in the
United States. Whether you are involved in transportation or
border security, you need the right equipment to detect and
identify dangerous radioactive materials.
The
ICS-4000 Radionuclide Identifier provides the critical information required
to prevent the illicit transport of radioactive materials. The ICS-4000
serves as a first and second line of defense instrument. Both an alarming
rate meter and a radioactive isotope identifier, the ICS-4000 automatically
alerts security personnel to elevated radiation levels, in real-time.
Real-time alerting is a critical feature, especially at airport security
and other transportation security check points.
The
ICS-4000 automatically identifies and classifies mixed radioactive
isotopes into Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM), Medical
radioactive isotopes, Industrial radioactive isotopes and Special Nuclear
Materials (SNM). The
ICS-4000 accurately discriminates between medical radioactive materials
and SNM. This feature is crucial at points of high pedestrian volume
where the simultaneous detection of multiple radioactive isotopes can
prevent covert smuggling of dangerous SNM.
The
ICS-4000e can be configured as a remote sensing device. Coupled with
the XM-3 remote detector, the ICS-4000e efficiently detects and identifies
radioactive
material hidden in baggage on conveyers and carousels and at personnel
gates.
The XM-3 connects to the ICS-4000e via a cable that can be up to
500’ in
length.
THERE
IS NO OTHER INSTRUMENT IN ITS CLASS BETTER SUITED TO HELP HOMELAND
SECURITY OFFICIALS MONITOR PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS, AND PREVENT THE PROLIFERATION
OF DANGEROUS RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS.
